01 · Why It Exists

The Access Problem

Gurmat Sangeet is taught one-to-one, in person, by a shrinking number of teachers. If you were not born near one, you were out. Livtaar started as the fix. Music is still the heart of it; the organisation has since grown around it, into finance and IT services run with partners.

Structured courses from first note to independent riyaaz. Learners see one clear next step, never a wall of content.

03 · Backstage

A Teaching System, Not Just Videos

Curriculum, notation, and feedback loops, written up in a pedagogy paper presented at the International Kirtan Conference 2024, Punjabi University. Every course runs on homework, and every homework gets a human reply: 7,680 reviewed so far.

04 · The Moment of Truth

Prabhsimran

Prabhsimran is visually impaired. He learned with weekly classes for three months. Then he played the harmonium and sang raags on his own, with nothing extra from us: no modified course, no special sessions. The structure carried him. That one performance told us the system works.

06 · Reflection

Structure is a kind of care. A course built carefully enough teaches on its own, even when I am not in the room. Five years of running a school with no walls has taught me more about feedback loops, retention, and service recovery than any client engagement.
